GDP Training

Good distribution practice (GDP) describes the minimum standards that a wholesale distributor must meet to ensure that the quality and integrity of medicines is maintained throughout the supply chain.

The minimum standards for GDP are increasing all the time. This year, Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices (MDR) becomes fully applicable on the 26th of May. Find out more about this HERE.

We are delighted to be teaming up with the Irish Exporters Association to deliver one of the most comprehensive suites of GDP training in Ireland. We want to ensure that businesses, for whom GDP is relevant, are fully trained and compliant in this area.

The GDP Passport is an IEA solution to the EU regulation to help ensure the safe handling, security and quality of medical products is maintained throughout the supply chain.

The Good Distribution Practice Passport plays a key role in assuring the quality of the supply chain and distribution of pharmaceutical and medical devices products. The Good Distribution Practice (GDP) Passport by the Irish Exporters Association is the first of its kind and ensures compliance and safety throughout the whole supply chain.

Manufacturers can then ensure that pharmaceutical and medical devices products are transported, stored and handled according to the GMP and GDP regulations and guidelines by dealing with GDP Passport holders.

The Code is focused on providing training courses to all levels of personnel involved in the supply chain. The key to success is the full suite of standardised and certified training which is to be undertaken by all those engaged either directly by the manufacturer or indirectly by the Service Provider.

CILT Skillnet offer subsidised training programmes enabling businesses to meet the training requirements for the GDP Passport.
